If similar diversity differences persist across times, it suggests that regular encounters with books may provide consumers with a corrective mechanism necessary to counter the more sensationalist manias that periodically grip the American cultural scene.

3. Case Studies: Examining the Influence of Book Reviews on Popular Science Literature

Unfortunately, some academic authors seem to write self-help books targeted towards popular audiences just to make money. There is little agreement about which characteristics of a book review will appeal to a potential reader other than length, but, shockingly, book reviews that challenge the nature of academic knowledge, that are thorough in scope and critical of the book, statistically and somehow appeal the elitist nature of its reader are more worthy of publication in a general social science journal compared to a fluff and praise-filled journal article.

Therefore, it is imperative for critical stakeholders to build the best evidence to evaluate, negotiate, and incorporate these book reviews in anatomy and physiology education.
