1. Introduction

A clear and well-written introduction is crucial to a successful proposal as it helps you understand the research question and develop an understanding of the background information. It should be easy to understand and compelling, but it is not the place to go into the methodology or the theoretical background. So, work on the introduction after completing the rest of the proposal.

2. Literature Review

The main objective of this study is to investigate the factors affecting the resistance to change. For doing this, it’s essential to understand and review the concepts related to change and resistance. There is no one way of defining change, but it is essential to understand the nature, cause and effect of change (Pierce and Gardner, 2004). Huczynski and Buchanan (2007) define change as the adoption of a new idea or behaviour by a company and it is also about leaving an activity which has been going on for a long time. This means that it is about doing something quite different, replacing an old activity with something new and from this it can be inferred that change could be self-driven or it could be as a result of an external force. Thomas (2003) expresses change as inevitable and does not always result in progress, utilising the example of a penalty in football. Change is a hugely debated topic in modern-day management studies due to the fact that there is a growing belief that the rate of change is constantly accelerating (Hayes, 2014). This is supported by the technological era, forces of globalization and the widely perceived notion of complexity of modern organization. It is said that all these factors have been the criteria that have driven the increasing attention to the study of organization change (Richard, 2011). This could be generalized as a veiled attempt to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of organizations to not only save costs but to increase marketability. 3. Research Methodology

Eighty-nine percent of the sample that participated in my research study attend UMass Boston. Sixty-one percent of UMass Boston students that participated in this research study are female. Twenty percent of the sample who attend UMass Boston are employed while forty-five percent are unemployed. Eighty percent live off campus while twenty percent live on campus. The average age of UMass Boston students in the sample is twenty-three years old. Fifty-six percent of the sample currently has a GPA of 3.0 which is a B average. Fifty-six percent of the sample are full-time students and twenty-eight percent are part-time students. Forty-five percent of the sample’s parents make less than $40,000 annually and only twelve percent make over $100,000. Forty-five percent of the sample have received some type of financial aid. The sample reported that fifty-six percent have experience with credit cards and sixty-one percent have no financial literacy training.

5. Conclusion and Recommendations
